Early Purple Orchids flower early April to May, like chalk or limestone soil and are found in old grassland, limestone pavements and deciduous woodland with good light.
Photographing Orchids I last photographed these orchids in 2013 in Rigsby Wood with my Canon Power Shot SX40 HS bridge camera which will make it six years ago, so I thought it was time I revisited this orchid with my more modern DSLR camera. This time I looked a little closer to home and found some at Broxholm Wood in Lincolnshire.

First visited Broxholm Wood to find the Early Purple Orchids which was just coming up with their big green leaves with dark blotches on them.
