A Trip to Bradgate Park, Leicestershire

Writer's picture: Dawn McCallDawn McCall

On the 8th October 2018 I went out to see the deer rut at Bradgate Park with my partner, for my birthday.

Bradgate Park is a great place to see lots of deer, it also has some great views too. Most common are the fallow deer but they do also have red deer. Adult Stags (Males) are heavily built and can grow up to 2.6 metres across and can have as many as eight points on them. While fallow deer are a bit smaller.

As well as deer the park also has a good number of birds of prey. On this visit I saw three kestrels and a buzzard.
